I have a very active and friendly black molly who is about 1.5 inches long and has been since the day I got her about 6 months ago. Is that normal?

Possible reasons for lack of growth are too small a tank or bioload stunting.

It may also be the case that you have a smaller than average fish. I have a batch of Mollies from the same birth that are different sizes and have remained that way for quite a while. Even though 3" is a generally accepted maximum size, I've found the lengths vary quite a bit.

I have a male molly that won't grow. I think he was so hot to reproduce that he ignored food.
