What are others using to weight blanched vegetables for feeding Otto's, Bristlenose Pleco, and etc? I am currently using a rock on a corner of the vegetable, but I'm sure there's a better way. TIA
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't wood be more buoyant, not less? Or, are you using the skewer digging it into the gravel? Any concerns of harming the fish with the end?
Just stick the skewer through the food into the substrate. I figure the fish face far more dangers in their normal habitat than a little pointy stick, so I'm no worried.
If that's the case, I wonder if I can just use a stainless steel bolt through the edge? Should hold it down on weight alone and less pointy than a toothpick.
