I think I am just going to fill out my black neon school today and let the 5 red eyed tetras be. Question is I have neons but have red that cardinal tetras will school with neons and are not susceptible to Neon Tetra Disease.

My water continually tests 8.0-8.2 pH. I have read the Cardinal Tetras are picky when it comes to water conditions. Would they be ok at this or should I just get more neons?

Thanks!
Jana

It will depend on the water in your area. I have a small school of cardinal tetras that I have had for the last five years. The LFS where I got them isn't far from me so I assume they are getting their water supply from the same place I do. It is fairly hard water, ph of about 7.8-8.0 and they adapted very well and are nice and colorful and healthy. Like I said, I've had them for 5years and they are doing great.
