Colonial Anemone

I have 2 groups of small brown stumps on my LR. They are about 1/4" tall and the thickness of a toothpick. Up until recently I thought they were the remnants of something that didn't survive the cycle. However today I noticed at the tip of each one of them are small projections. There size and location make them hard to photograph. Does anyone have any idea on what they could be?

Sounds like it could be hydroids.

Its hard to tell, they are so small its hard to see any detail. I can't get any more detail of the "head" other than there is something there. Maybe as time passes they'll grow and I'll have better luck then.
