Converting?

Could I use my freshwater filter, Aqua clear 70, for saltwater? Like is it safe for the fish in the first place? How would i sterilize it?

I'm just guessing here but maybe if you ran it in new distilled water and kept doing water changes, plus changing cartridges and everything else out as well it might work.

You can clean the equipment, but using the old filter is a trap. You would be bringing in either old decaying matter or already used up media.

I'm not going to use the same stuff for inside the filter.

rinse it clean it dunk it in bleach then use some water conditioner and ur good to go
