Eel ate fish with ich

My ribbon eel seems to have finally caught my firefish. Unfortunately, the tank currently has ich. I know that the eel's slime coating protects it from ich pretty well, but will eating an infested fish harm it?

I think you should be good, but just keep an extra eye out on it.

Well today I saw my cleaner shrimp working on the eel's skin, so I'm nervous. The eel has just begun transitioning to blue. If anything happens to it im really going to be bummed. He is getting a fantastic diet, so there's not much more to do I suppose.
