could I put lets say 6 electric yellows and 6 electric blues in a 15 gallon tank with a stump for them to fly in and out of? Wouldn't that be pretty?

ok I can understand that, I did not realize they got that big. Any ideas on what is very colorful stays small and I could fit say 12 in a 15 gallon tank. Oh and not neon tetras lol

what about adding some to my 250 gallon tank, are they too aggressive or would they be okay? The other fish wouldn't bug them, they are all quite friendly

As I said, they need special set-up and water requirements, and ones that may not be tolerated by your other fish. They can also rip fish they don't like to shreds (that's mollies, guppies, most any other fish besides other African cichlids, etc.). Check out some of the articles on these cichlids here:

How about 8 sparkling gourami, 4 small rasboras, 4 khuli loaches?

If you want those colors and numbers; then stuck with tetras you are. get the blue and yellow tetras... like cochu blues or emperors and the neon looking yellow glow striped tetra (they are like a 2" fish)
and some pepper corys mix albino

OR
Rainbow and lemon skirted tetras (skirts are notorious nipping type)
