Can anyone suggest a good colourful feature fish that would be okay in a 4ft tank?
Other tank mates are a convict cichlid, firemouth cichlid, red tail shark, 3 barbs and a pair of opaline gouramis.
I like the discuss cichlid but I don't think they'd cope with my current fish and I know they like being in groups.

Discus is an absolute no. They are far too sensitive to be kept with them. Another fish that Moby work out is a jack Dempsey. I'm not terribly familiar with south American cichlids though so I'm sure there are better options.

I do like the electric blue jack dempsey but I don't know if they would be too aggressive

I would say a pictus catfish group could work.

I'm not sure, I would like something quite colourful as a centre piece to the tank.

I think rams would be too small, might get bullied by other fish.

Synodontis petricola or on of the smaller synodontis species could work.

Petricola are very lively but not much color. Look into a JD or a green terror. They have good color and get large, but not too big

I like the JDs, I'm going to do some more research in to them. Thank you.
