Can a Betta show their "Stress/Fear" stripes for other reasons?
Mine always shows hers when she comes out to eat, she starts black.. comes to the front of the tank, turns a brown with black horizontal stripes, eats then when she's had 2-3 pieces she starts slowly turning back to black.
I've watched her swim around for hours and she's black. As soon as it comes time to eat, she does it.
I thought it was because I was giving a tap on the tank to let her know it's time to eat, BUT-- I've even waited to feed her when she was out in the open and she still changed colors coming up for that first bite.
