For all my marineland filters I cut the old used floss off of the frame with a razor blade and rubberband on bonded floss from big als. $ 6.50 for 10 sq. ft. It is very clean and does not have loose fibers that might injure the fish.
I have filter floss (from Big Al's) in my penguin 125. I have it and a aquaclear sponge (for coarse filtration) instead of the carbon filter that came with it. I had to cut the sponge a bit but it works great!
