Filter media

I upgraded to a bigger filter. I mixed the old media with the new media. How long do I leave the old media in the new filter?

I leave mine in for a week or two and ive never had any issues.

I think he is saying, it's not harming anything being in there, just keep it there. No reason to rush taking it out. It's got some great bacteria on it.

Exactly, once the old media is in the new filter there is no need to remove it, it just becomes part of the new filter.
