Filtration needs for a 45 gal.

I recently picked up a 45 gallon tall tank off Craigslist which came with both a Magnum 350 canister filter and an undergravel system. Should I use both or ditch the undergravel? It will just be a general community tank. Thanks!

If you are planning to have live plants lose the ugf. I would think the canister would be fine.(not sure have never used canister filters only hob's)
