Trates I didn't bother testing but they were around 10 or so this morning. I've got about 2 gallons mixed of saltwater. Should I mix another gallon? Shoot- I better test trates. Hold on a tic.

The trates were appx 10ppm.

Is it bad policy to go buy the hermits and float the bag for a little while as I wait for the trites to disappear... I'm so impatient, but trying hard to stay patient.

10 is good! Disappear? Like with a pwc?

LMAO!!! You are not helping! Disappear as in letting my biological filtration do its job... Hahaha!

I'm going to go out and break down our campsite. (backyard camping rocks!). When I come back in I will test nitrites again and maybe they will be gone...then pwc, the LFS. I think that I will be getting hermits today!

Tested water:

0 ammo
Less than .25 trites
10ish trates.

Did a 2 gallon pwc,
Ammo zero
Trites 0
Trates 5
Salinity 1.024

On my way to the store!!

Risky adding livestock before all your nitrites are gone. I would at least do a 25% water change before adding livestock.

Here they are!!!

1 emerald crab
2 blue leg hermit crabs (very tiny)
2 nassarius snail
3 hermit crab shells for my Hermies to grow into.

I didn't get a Pom Pom. They were $13 and I was afraid to spend that much. Lol!

I also bought some food so they don't starve.

Nassarius snail (the second one wasn't feeling photogenic)

Emerald crab and baby hermits and extra shells

It's my drip acclimation station! Lol! One of the nassarius was trying to escape. I don't think he liked being out of the water.

Thanks Gboy! I'm so excited! I can't wait to put them in their new home.
