Found this on my sand this morning

Any ideas on what type of starfish and if it's reef safe? It's blue in color and moves fairly quickly.

Could be an astrea starfish!! Not to sure by the pic but not too bad a pest! I have a couple, never get any problems from him

Yep, an asterina (sp?) star. They are all over my biocube and I kinda like em. lol

They will cause no harm but they can and will multiply over the next few months. Some of them will only be like an arm or two and some can look like fully formed starfish.

I have never seen astrea's that color. But, I dont know what it is. Sorry.

I have blue ones and white ones too. They seem to come in different shades

I had a brown one! Haha he came on a coral and i see him every few weeks...

I was told them guys will eat coral I had a load and had to pick them all out I was told the blue ones were especially bad, still see the odd one though I was so happy when I thought I had like 50 starfish haha
