Help ID this critter??

Found this critter on my LR. Seems to hide in a hole in the LR, but opens and closes at various times. If it is open and is startled, it hides.

Hard to tell from the picture but it sounds like maybe some type of bivalve/clam. Would it be possible to get a clearer pic? Perhaps with more light?
