Hi everyone - advice needed, please.

I have a new tank (3 weeks old.) It’s a Coralife Biocube 32 gallon. Everything seemed fine, water continually tested fine. Then I got an explosion of what I have determined is brown algae. I understand that this is normal (sometimes) to have a diatom bloom in a new tank. I do water changes and scrub the algae off the tank walls. My question is - do I need to throw out the decorative dead coral that I have in there in order to eradicate this? It seems futile to constantly clean the tank when this decorative (originally white) coral is now deep brown with the algae. Should this item be removed, or will the problem sort itself out?

Should sort itself out after a week or two of brownness. Once all the silicates in the water have been consumed it should go away

If you are using tap water it might go through a prolonged period. Don't know where you get your water from but you need a RO/DI unit.
