Hermits dissapear

I've had three hermits disappear on me so far. No traces of them or their shells left behind. Do they do this when theyre dying? My tank is small and I have no livestock that would eat them.

Its a 29g. I dont know how they manage to elude me but I cany find them.

have you moved any rock? I recently moved some rock in my 29 cube and found a whole graveyard of empty shells. lol

I haven't only because I like my rock work and I'm scared I'm not going to get it the same

Ha that's why I never mess with mine lol I love it the way it is and the last time I moved a rock I couldn't get it back up where I liked it!

wait until about an hour after lights out then shine a torch,none of my hermits show up in daylight.
