Hi fin Pleco?

Hi all I just wanted to make sure that this is what I have and its not different then what I was told at the LFS. I purchased him about 4 months ago and he has grown from about 2" to almost 5", Also if you can see the discoloration on the body is that normal too? sometimes its there sometimes its not. He is in a 55 gallon tank too, heated to 79 with a canister filter and a coralife 48" 50/50 light with two 18" airstones in the back. so filtration is not a problem here.

That looks like a Sailfin pleco. Dont know about the decoloration, at some point you might need to upgrade him to something bigger, if it is a sailfin they get up to 20 inch.

I'm not very good with id's on plecs but to it looks like a common. My bristlenose plecs get that discoloration from time to time without any known issues.
