Hello,

I finally got my mopani wood to stop leaching and it looks GREAT in my tank. (it only took, oh, seven boilings of about three hours each but it's worth it.)

I purchased some lovely cholla from a person on ebay (who has lots more, it's nice) and I am soaking it now, as I want to use it as refugia for the shrimp I want to get.

PLEASE tell me it's not going to take weeks of soaking to get the cholla to stop leaching. I don't know if I should boil it as it isn't as substantial as wood.
Kazin, you gave me some excellent advice earlier about cholla, thank you

How long should it take to get cholla to stop leaching?
Any advice is greatly appreciated
And if you want the name of the person who supplied the cholla, private message me.
Thank you

Mine is.Maybe it's because it was dried? I don't know, but I've dumped three buckets of water and it appears the amount of tannin is dropping. It also wants to float. I bet once it stops leaching it will also stop floating. That's fine, I have time.
