Brought home Platys yesterday, did I get a female that's already pregnant? I got them specifically for breeding, so this would be great news.

On a related note: what would be good decor for pregnant females and fry in the tank?I have the pirate ship as something for comfort, but I feel like a birthing female wants privacy.

She looks prego.
Live plants are best for fish and fry.
Floating and submerged.
Simple plants like ;
moss,anacharis,hornwort and even duckweed will provide good cover and are excellent nutrient hogs to help with water quality.
Enough for everyone to hide....
Have fun!

Silk plants work? This tank doesn't have lighting.

probably better then the pirate ship?

Live foods come off of plants for fry so they can pick away all day.
The plants I listed are cheap and low light....

If you needed immediate cover, plastic plants will work. I prefer live plants.

I'll just have to done a lighting solution. Amazon only has a glofish LED hood for $25 it seems. All I want is a white light!

I added an old sponge from my DT to cycle the filter. I think I'll end up with a sand substrate and some plants once I get some lights.
