Hello,

Just yesterday, I decided to upgrade my betta tank into a 10 gallon divided. Well, I went to petco and got a empty 10 gallon, aqueon hood, and a nice Female betta (white body/ red fins with silver blue tent, absolutely beautiful).

Then, I went to petsmart and gotten a few silk plants, a few decorations, and a divider.

Got home and setup new tank (Drained 6.6, added gravel and filter to the 10, and added de-chlorinated water). Acclimated both bettas and they did great til time to come home from school the next day. The female decided to jump out of the slot were you place the filter in the hood .

Now, I was wondering what I could do to cover up the whole. I was thinking a nice new un-washed rag, but idk if it would work. Any suggestions on how to keep covered?

Do some kind of mesh if you must... it will allow gas exchange, as well as allowing any heat that may get trapped to escape.

Mesh will definitely look better than a rag. That's for sure. And it will be much better for your tank IMO
