Is it possible to have 1 or 2 female koi betta in a 30gallon community tank if the tank is already established with other peaceful fish before introducing them to the tank? So I know the community fish would need to be fish that dont hang in the same areas as bettas, not flashy, schooling so as to not be picked on, and not nippers although the koi betta do not have the same long flowy fins as other bettas from what I've observed? Is this just too much of a gamble since it depends on how aggressive the betta is?

You will likely have more luck with a single female rather than a pair. But I dont see why you cant try. Bettas can work well in community tanks.

I've kept a female betta in a community tank with corydoras and pristella tetras. Another female betta was with platys.
It just depends on the temperament of your betta. Some females are as aggressive as the males. Mine just happened to work.
Only add 1 female and/or have a backup tank in case it goes bad.
