Ok so I found a baby live rarer of some sort swimming around in my community and the red platys were looking at him like it was their next yummy meal or something so I scooped him out and put him in a cup (filled with my 10 gallon tank water)
I couldn't find any other survivors so he's the only one. Anyway I have a 1 gallon fry tank that has like 1 or 2 ghost shrimp just sitting around as a clean up crew but it's empty other than that. The 1 gallon is filtered, however, and the cup that he is in is not. However I'm scared that he isn't big or strong enough yet to fight the current of the filter and he'll get sucked up, or he's small enough that even the ghost shrimp will get him
About how long can I keep him in that cup until I can move him out and into the 1 gallon, and about how long until he's big enough to take on his parents and the other big community fish?
