Personally if I went to a store with bare bottoms I wouldn't get the fish... Just a look thing. People buy with their eyes first

The best LFS I have ever seen has bare bottom for most of their tanks. Substrate isn't important. Health of the stock is what is important.

Well I was talking in ops case. He works in a big box store so the prices are set and the stock would be fairly common

90% of the customers are not as smart as you guys when it comes to fish. They want to see colors, plants, and fish. there's even people on this forum that say they won't buy fish from bare bottom tanks.
