Hi all,
I have a 55 Litre hexagonal tank and am tossing up my options for a freshwater tank filter.

My preference is to use a canister filter eg eheim 2213. The reasons for this are:

1. The HOB filters dont look good as I want the filter concealed
2. Internal filters take oo much room internally.

Is there any reason why a canister filter such as the above would not be suitable. If there are any alternatives please suggest.

Thanks,
buballo

Thanks guys,
My main concern was that because of the capacity of the canister I may be causing too muach turbulance for the fish.

Thanks

I have the rena xp3 on my 55t hex and I have to throttle back on the discharge a bit the keep the flow down a bit.Using the spray bar helps with disapation as well.

55 litres is about 15 gallons?
Yes....so I suggest using a smallish canister.

I think the eheim 2213 does 115gph at a head of over 4 foot. This is the smoallest eheim available i think.
