okay just a few questions about mystery snails.
- how do you tell if its a boy/girl?
- i know they need calcium for their shell and i read somewhere that you could add a crushed up tums tablet. will this be okay for the other fish as well?
thank you for the help!

IMO/E cuttlebone is better for calcium.
There is a way to sex them, but you have to get up close and personal with the snail
Applesnail.net will detail how to sex them.

okay thank you. i dont have cuttlebone so for now can i use tums in the tank?

You can, but I would honestly wait until you can get a cuttlebone. They are $1-2 at a local pet store in the bird section.

I really wouldn't use tums.

For the snails, look inside the shell. The males have a penis on the opposite side of the snorkel.
