So I just bought a fluval C3 filter for my 30 gallon, right now I have it running on the back of my already we'll established 10 gallon, so my question is, how long will it take for beneficial bacteria to grow on the new filter? Any input/advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Ok, well it could take only 24 hours, but to be safe you could let it go 2 weeks. The c3 will turn over so much water for a 10g it might create a mini cycle. So a week of running, then a water change, and another week of running will really make sure it will be well seeded.

I would just take some filter media from the old filter and mix it in with the new one.
