Well here are day 1 pictures I've finally uploaded. This is my 10 gallon nano soon to be reef tank. Lighting is a k2 viper 150watt metal halide. Still waiting for my skimmer to come in and some other parts. Using live sand as well as 5 pounds so far of live rock. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated as this is my 1st true nano reef. Last reef was a 72 gallon. Let me know what you think thanks everyone!!

Great beginnings. U fill the tank completely to the top?

Yeah this was when I just set it up. I have now 11 pounds of live rock. Just built a new stand for it too. I've also added some LED lighting for when my halide is off as well as moon light. I have a HOB refugium with protein skimmer, live rock. Tank is coming together nicely!!

Here's some pics. Let me know what you all think!

Nice. I got really lucky with my last run for live rock...Got a piece with 10 polyps of Protopalythoa and (I think) a bunch of small anthelia that missed harvesting. Looks like you've got plenty of light going on haha.

It says 150watt halide k2 viper.

Might be too much light for that Actinodiscus honestly, who knows. A Ricordea would be better suited under 15 watts per gallon o_O

looks like an aqualight hqi halide fixture i could be wrong though

edit i missed that it is viper

do you need a chiller with that ?? i heard they run real hot and you need one??

It's actually a 70 watt k2 viper I thought it was the 150 but I checked out the ballast after leaving the store. I'm good with 7 wpg. I also added a LED system with moonlights. As for stocking probably 2 Percula clowns. I'm gonna try and focus a lot on the corals.

Update.

Funny how your 10g looks bigger than my 24 cube in pictures. And nice looking setup, though I would go for more live rock.

Over time I plan on adding some more live rock to the back, I'll be doing it slowly before I decide to add some SPS.

Yeah...I noticd that as well :)...funny since the length of the cube is 6" longer. Could be because the cube is taller...you lose the visual "distance."
