Last weekend I had to explain to my mom why this rule is inaccurate. I told her that she could stock my 10gallon and an employee recommended to her some tiger barbs. These guys were the big ones. After the employee walked away, I explained to my mom why this rule is bad. The example I used was a 10inch fish in the tank. She quickly understood and we walked out with a betta.
