How big do they get? i've only heard that they get 4"+ and is it safe to keep them in a 20 gal. tank? ..and when they get to 4-5" will they eat smaller fish?...cause I have them with a school of neons...
yeah my neons are at least 1"+ and the opaline gourami is barely 2" so maybe by the time he gets big, my neons will be fully grown...thanks a lot!Fruitbat said:EdgarMedina1010....
The answer to your question is a qualified 'yes'. Blue Gouramis (Trichogaster trichopteris) of which the Opaline Gourami is just a color variant, will eat smaller fish but your Neon Tetras are probably big enough to be safe (unless they're very small Neons). The gourami doesn't have a very big mouth for the size of the fish and the Neons are reasonably fast. I've kept Opaline Gouramis with fairly small Brilliant Rasboras (Rasbora borapetensis) without any problems.
