I was moving some stuff around in my tank and accidentally hit my plate coral with some live rock. Now the side I hit with the rock seems to be dying. My question is will it continue to die off or will it get better and if it does die will it harm the tank?

Seems to be dieing as in recessed tissue or there is a brown jelly-like substance at the damage site? If you have a pic that'd be good, but other than that adjust the flow so it keeps the damaged area flushed (not direct flow).

trying to get a pic having trouble but it is recessed tissue

If it's just recessed tissue, then keeping the water parameters good and the area flushed like Innovator mentioned is about all you can do. If you start to see a brown jelly-like substance, then GET THE CORAL OUT of your tank immediately. "Brown Jelly Disease" is a quick death and can spread to other corals very quickly.
