Plexiglass in a sump

I'm going to set up an old 30 gallon as a sump this week. What thickness of plexiglass should I use as the baffles?

1/4 in would be fine, you can also go to a petstore and look for tank dividers you could use them instead, if you wanted, it might be cheaper.
