quarantine tank question

are you supposed to cycle a barebottom quarantine tank?

My understanding is it depends what you plan to do with it. If you plan to just use it for quarantine of new fish, then yes. If you plan to use it for treatment such as hypo or copper then it won't make any difference because the treatment will kill all bacteria in your filters.

I cycled mine and now I am treating my fish for hypo, so my ammonia and nitrates are always high if I don't perform a 50% WC daily.
