I would not recommend it. Parrot cichlids can be quite aggressive at times and I wouldn't try it. What size tank are you thinking of? If you were thinking of the 55 and had some dither fish and plenty of hiding spots, then it MIGHT work, but you would have to be prepared to get him out should he get aggressive.
