Hi everyone. I’m a new Red Claw Mom. We got four crabs for the kiddos on Christmas Eve. They were very very active even durning the day. Originally I had them in an aquarium with mollies brackish water and places for them to get air. But I wasn’t happy that the mollies ate their food so I bought another tank and made them a new home. 4-5 days after having them the tank was finally ready for transfer. I moved them over and they hide constantly! I think I spooked them or shocked them. It’s been about a week now in their new home and I noticed that one of my females wasn’t moving much and was hanging upside down in the plants. I called the LPS and they said she’s molting or dropping eggs and that I need to separate her from the rest of the tank. My male was fighting her a lot. I got a glass bowl and dug it into the sand, added water and her of course. Well this morning she is upside down. Is this normal molting behavior? I have been worried sick. I haven’t tried to see if she will move if I touch her. I’m scared if she is having a stressful molt, I’d add to the stress. I fear it has gone bad.
I checked the water and everything is fine. I did recently do a water change (2 days before she started acting ill) it was only roughly 25%. Any help would be appreciated.
