Redecorating fish aquarium

I looked at my aquarium today and knew it can look much better with some redecorating. I already know what new decorations would make it look better, but I don't have a spare tank for them. Can I redecorate with them in the aquarium? If not I can see if I can buy a spare tank.

Go ahead and do it while they are in the tank. It's not that big of a deal. That is.. assuming you aren't changing the substrate

Be careful not to disturb the substate too much. Moving it around might release bad things and cause a nitrite/nitrate/ammonia spike.
