Reed fish

Can any one help!
Does anyone know how to sex a reed fish? I have read that the males have more spines than the females. I asked in the LFS. they didn't know, when I said about the males having more spines he said ah but is it more spines or more fins? Apparently they have fins on the back and some fins have spines in and some don't. So now I don't have a clue. Any help would be appreciated.

hey buddy found this ReedFish (RopeFish, SnakeFish) - Erpetoichthys calabaricus
it says the males have more spikes on there top fins and are more olive hope that helps

oh and the males have between 9-12 fish the females less then 10 so if its less than 10 definatly a female
