Salinity

So I just checked my water salinity after doing a top off on my sump today. My salinity is at 1.019. I was wondering if I could add a cup of salt to the sump? I know I'm not supposed to add directly to the tank

take some of your tank water mix the salt in a bucket but make sure it all disolves then add it

Will that bump it up to 1.022-1.026 level if I only do say 5 gallons of it at that salinity or will I need to make it a lil stronger so that it helps the whole tank out?

less is more you can add it a little at a time until you reach desired salinity its harder to reduce salinity then it is to raise it
