Shopping Around For Protrin Skimmer!!

Im in the market for a protein skimmer! I have a medium stocked 55 gallon saltwater tank. I plan on adding coral soon as well. In looking for an affordable and efficient protein skimmer! I'm ready to buy a Reef Octopus bh 100 or bh 1000. Anyone have any experience with these? Or any suggestions on inexpensive, but good protein skimmers?

I have the Reef Octopus BH90 on my 29g and I love it! I believe it's rated to 100 g. Took about a week to break in, but produces good skimmate and is easy to clean.

I have a 55 reef with 20 sump. I run a nwb 150 on my tank. The next step down could be suitable, but scaling a skimmer up is a good thing.

I have a reef octo 1000 on my 40b and it works very well. Only 2 issues I have are the input and output pipes are rather large and I can't fit the glass cover on anymore, also the foam rings they give you to minimize micro bubbles look awful in the tank but it's easy to come up with many other ways to minimize the bubbles without using them.
