The are of the Genus Gastromyzon for sure. No idea of the species. But, most likely to be Beaufortia. So that means they are Loaches and not Pleco (my bad) they've got various common names.. Chinese sucker, Borneo sucker, hill stream butterfly pleco etc. the ones I have are about 2.5 inches at present.

My Para Pleco (L075)

About 4 inches.


Been in the tank about 4 months now. Eats like a champ and does not hide much at all during the day.

I don't know the type of pleco I have but I have 2 that look like this one. The other is smaller and more detail on it. I will try to get a pic but they hide! Is it a regular pleco?

Looks sorta like a common if it is, I'd just rehome it now because it will get huge.

I think My pleco has ich Im treating the whole tank!so frustrated because I just had it looking nice and it was almost fully cycled but now taking out the carbon to treat the tank with nox ich might ruin the cycle. I'm only planning on keeping the (3)pleco s for 2 more months then rehoming them I hope they will all be ok and ich free by next week.

Yay no more 'ich' ! I don't think my Plecos had ich. I might have made a mistake. :/ and the one hippy who had it is doing much much better. Got all her color back and is eating and swimming happily
