Sponge thing

Hello, I just had a question and was wondering if anybody could answer it . Lately my Power Filter has been picking up these little pieces of what appears to be like sponge. I have 3 Giant Danios and a Pleco in there and everything seems ok i just wanted to know what it is. Anybody have a clue ???

What kind of food do you feed the fish? And do you turn the filter off durring feedings?
It sounds like it could be some kind of food sticks or pellets that have decomposed some..

Did you have any potted plants in tank? Sometimes they sell plants with the roots wrapped in spongy stuff that can fall apart in the fish tank if fish dig it up and mess with it.

I feed them tropical crisps and no i dont have any potted plants
