Stocking a 20 long

What's your water quality like? What kind of fish do you like- Colorful? Active? Personality? How much experience do you have?

Very good and solid questions above by Sin

All my 20 longs are stocked around a breeding pair of Apistogrammas or Kribs. It gives a little more to see than just a bunch of community fish piled in the tank.

Well, you could get a pair or trio of some of the hardy apisto species. Some corydoras catfish and a school of some kind of tetra to occupy the middle and upper levels?

It depends on what you like. I have two 20 gallon talls, and one has exactly the above (except rams instead of apistos) while the other is a shelldweller species tank. I love both the species and community tank.
