On my power strip one of the outlets is further away from the rest and it says transformer on it. What is it? And is it safe to plug my heater (the most valuable and dangerous piece of equipment IMO) in to it?

I thought ttransformers like changed the voltage or something. And im wondering if that would be bad for the heater

Ok. "Wall warts" are transformers, big ugly plugs. That outlet is there to give you the space to plug one in and not have it interfere with other outlets.

Blert is right. They are the same voltage as the other outlets. They are spaced out so that you can fit big plugs like this:

That way it doesn't cover your other unused power outlets.

Ohhh so its just indicating the space is for the transformer which are those big plugs?

Correct.

These have also been catching on as you can plug in a ton of those big transformers into them and not worry about covering up other outlets.
