i added 15 lbs of uncured rock to my tank with 70 or so lbs of 5 year old cured rock. my amonia level is a .5 ppm, all other levels are good nitrite 0, nitrate <5 ppm, sg 1.024, ph 8.2. with this level off fairly quick? my fish and corals are looking a little stressed.

It depends on how much die off is on the rock. I would remove the new uncured LR to a bucket of SW, add a powerhead and cure it outside the tank. The ammonia and impact on the ph is bound to have more negative effects on your tank.

Reefrunner has good advice, get a rubbermaid tub, drop the rock in it, get a powerhead and a heater, and a skimmer if you have an extra. Let it run its cycle and than add to tank. Die off can really raise the levels
