used canister off ebay gripe

Just bought a used Marineland HOT 250 magnum. not bad $40 shipped.
problem is that I opened it up and it was filthy. Still had hard scale buildup and the old carbon in it. also it was missing the outlet tube.
UGH, dont wanna send it back but cant use it the way it is.

Maybe let it soak in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar.

I got it clean off with a little elbow grease, I am more upset about the outlet tube being missing.

Maybe go to the Marineland website and look for replacement parts. I have bought parts for my rena filters from planetrena.com. Maybe marineland has something similar?

For the price of new, $59.99, I would have gone with a new one over a used one.

Ebay is pretty good about regulating stuff like that. Did you contact the seller? Maybe they forgot to include it?

contact the seller, if nothing open a case about items missing parts/not as described. Ebay takes swift action on stuff like this as does paypal.

Cover your bases, save all correspondence's and use their avenues of customer service before flipping out. I sell alot on there and believe me, communication is your best friend.
