This white stuff (some type of algae???) is all over my plants. What is it ? And how do I get rid of it?

If you have no inverts you can try a hydrogen peroxide spot the treatment.

Manual removal as well.

I've heard of people using Flourish Excel to treat as well. Which is invert safe. I haven't tried this so I can't verify.

Peroxide is bad for inverts??? I thought it was ok as long as you didn't spray it on them or near them.

I've heard it can affect them so I play it safe and just say if you have them don't use it.

Maybe thats what happened to my other amano shrimp. I do have 1 amano, 2 assassins, and MTS in my 29 with multiple peroxide treatments though. Weird

You can dip the plants if you don't want the peroxide in tank.
I keep filters running when I use h2o2(many turn them off,which I don't recommend personally).

1-2 ml per gallon is pretty safe.

I'm not really a plant guy(all for fish) ,but IMO the val? may not like the h202 and melt???
