what kinda light's

hi all can any of you plant lover's give me a good idear of what light's i should look at for a deep planted tank ps dont want to break the bank so any tips very welcome cheers all

T5HO or LED. A DIY LED fixture is pretty cost-effective if you've got a smidgen of electrical inclination.

cheers jim i have a lil know how on the lecy front but being a bit old school was a bit unshure about how effective the led whould be on a deep tank?

LEDs are pretty potent if you get high-power diodes. I've got high-light plants growing in a 20H under 30W of LEDs. There's a link in my signature if you're interested.
