I'm thinking about putting a sump on my 29 gal reef tank, is it necessary? What size sump would I need? I was thinking about a 10 or 15 gallon.

Is this gonna be just a sump or a sump/fuge cause a 20 long is perfect for that. It would give you about 50% more water volume too for added stability in your reef. Always go as big as you can on the sump since the more water the better

+1 on as big as you can.

Agree big as possible also allows room for macro imo very important in controlling nutrients in reeftank

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking about combo sump/fuge with my skimmer, macro algae, filter, etc. I've got an aqualife 115 and no matter how I adjust it I get micro bubbles in my tank from it. The penguin 200 also dumps in some bubbles. I wanna move all that to the sump.
