I have many planted freshwater tanks and two mixed reef tanks. I have an old 120 gallon aquarium that I would like to use as a brackish aquarium. Are there different equipment needs specifically for brackish and is there anything special needed besides water perameters? Please help!

No special equipment is needed. Maybe a salinity tester/meter.
You will need to use salt like Instant Ocean to create brackish water. I use 3 tablespoons of salt per 5 gallons of water for my Columbian Sharks and they do really good with this ratio.

a SG from .005 to .008 is perfect for brackish fish, I have my figure 8 puffers water around .006 and they seem great. Very lively.

It depends on what you want to keep. Some fish have more salt tolerance than others. Some mud skippers need SG of 1.012 as they are estuarine/mangrove dwelling fish while others such as dwarf puffers can exist in either full salt or nearly full fresh.
