Can't see very well .. We're is the white spot located at ?. Do u notice a shredded fins ? Is it spreading to other fish ? Ussually if u pick up fish from fish store u see them how they interact .. If they seem sick or being picked on usually are indicators of unhealthy fish .. I would quarantine him a treat him for fin rot if fins are shredded or ich if only white spots..

Not ich And no shredded fins, and he's acting normal eating holding down his cave he claimed

You say it is not ick. Why? What caused you to change your mind?

On Thursday, after doing a pwc, I noticed my molly (all black) had several white spots on her tail and along the dorsal fin. I don't remember the molly ever having these white spots before. The spots also appear to have depth (like a pimple) especially those on the tail.

I read that molly's are more susceptible to ick than other fish species. I also looked on the internet at tons of pictures of ick. The other fish appear to be uninfected, but only the molly is black and these spots stand out quite well.:fish1:

I had another molly die and it was a dalmatian molly so spots would never be noticed on it. So I wonder if the fish came infected from the store.

I decided not to wait and began treatment. I don't know if I did the right thing, cause treatment is supposed to be hard on the fish. I removed the filter, raised the temperature a tiny bit and began treating with Rid-Ick Plus. I have to do PWC everyday.

Because I know how ich looks this is diffrent what I'm dealing with now I will get better pictures when I'm home

Then it must be some type of fungus.. I would start looking up for fungus treatments .. I had an angel fish that had white spot on its anal fin it acts normal and ate normal.. I treated for ich but it didn't get better nor any improvement .. Then I started treating for fungus and I noticed some improvement.. However I couldn't get rid of it.. I tried for over a month and switch meds three times before I finally had to put it down.. It's tough to treat fungus.. So I would start ASAP .. Check ur other fish .. Check tails, fins , and mouth..

If u dip in methane blue and the white spot turn blue then it could a sore which it'll heal with the same med.. Do u notice if its getting picked on? It seems its on the body .. Am I right..

I just went to look at him and he was keepin fish out of his log so he acts normal not being picked on and the white spots have gotten bigger and a small one on his mouth he had this since I purchased him and like I said gotten worst since then not really noticing on other fish.

It's good that its not spreading .. But I would start treatment ASAP .. The longer he's had it the harder it'll be to remove it.. If it was up to me I would put it down.. But if u want to give it a try u need to quarantine him so he doesn't affect anyone else .. Or take him back to the fish store .. Good luck

More shots of the white spots
